Lewis and Clark detail from one of four large murals in the new Pitman Funeral Home, 1500 Wentzville Parkway, Wentzville, MO. Each of the murals measures 8' high and 17 - 19' in length, and are located in the rotunda area.  Linda painted a faux finish in the dome above the rotunda and the walls surrounding the murals.  A border which includes the Pitman family crest is in incorporated into the border, at the base of the dome.  The project took 6 weeks to complete, and is the focal point of the new facility.  The funeral home will is now open.


Serena Boschert and Linda Wilmes have a joint show
of their work at the Parkside Retirement Center, 2150 W. Randolph St., St. Charles, MO 63301. The artwork is located in the walkway, connecting the residential buildings.

The show contains over 50 pieces , including both paintings and several 3 dimentional works. Serena Boschert has on display several paintings, ceramic ornaments, bowls, several decorative pieces, which add an interest and vitality to the show. Linda is displaying 21 paintings, including watercolors, pastels, and acrylics. The show theme is St. Charles, and will remain on display till the end of April 2010. 2010 Art Classes

Classes will be offered in 6 week sessions, beginning Feb. 1 – March 8th, and March 22 – April 26th all on Mondays. The cost is $120.00 per session, payable upon registration. Registration deadline one week prior to first class. A supply list will be sent to you at that time.  Class Size is limited, please call early at 636 639 0020 or email worldwings26@aol.com. Minimum of 5 students for a class to proceed. Class will be held at Wilmes Fine Art Studio, 1151 Hancock Rd., Wentzville, Mo 63385.
 
Feb. 1st – March 8th.
Mondays 9 – 12 a.m., Beginning to intermediate watercolor. The handling of watercolor along with specific techniques of application will be emphasized. Each class will contain information regarding good design elements, value studies, and color theory. 
Mondays, 1 – 4 p.mAcrylic painting. Learn the versatility of this wonderful water based medium. This class will include canvas painting as well as applications to watercolor paper. Also included will be emphasis on originality and choosing a good composition, as well as discussions of value and color.
Mondays 6 – 9 p.m. Beginning to intermediate watercolor. The handling of watercolor along with specific techniques of application will be emphasized. Each class will contain information regarding good design elements, value studies and color theory.
 
March 22nd- April 26th.
Mondays, 9 – 12 p.m. Intermediate Watercolor. This class will include demonstrations by the instructor to show the techniques of application to obtain maximum results.   Students will be encouraged to take watercolor and their imagination to the limit. This will be a fun and valuable class, which will greatly improve your watercolors.
Mondays, 1 – 4 p.m. Drawing Basics. Learn to accurately draw any subject using the sighting method. Students will use pencil, charcoal, marker, and conte crayon. Topics included will be in depth value, composition, design and how to obtain professional results with all of the tools, as well as how to protect and care for the finished work.
Monday, 6 – 9 p.m. Intermediate Watercolor. This class will include demonstrations by the instructor to show the techniques of application to obtain maximum results.   Students will be encouraged to take watercolor and their imagination to the limit. This will be a fun and valuable class, which will greatly improve your watercolors
